Selected in Slovakia, almost undistinguishable from the ‘Rubina’ cultivar.
Mid-late ripening, self-compatible cultivar with moderate productivity and a compact shrub appearance. The height of the shrub can reach 1.5-2 meters. The berry is medium-large in size, with a bloomy wax, midnight blue colour and a tart flavour.
Prefers acidic soils, but it grows well on slighty calcareous soils also. There are no significant pests and pathogen, requires no crop spraying.
The yield per hectare reaches 7-7.5 tons. Tolerates mechanical harvesting.
Can be used in making jams, syrups and as natural dye for diary products (The high levels of phenolic phytochemical compounds, mainly anthocyanins, cause the deep burgundy colour of the fruit. The total anthocyanin concentration reaches 1500 mg per 100 g fresh fruit. This is the highest among all fruits.).
‘Rubina’ container type tree cultivar
Mid-early ripening cultivar, with a good productivity. The berry has a shiny black ground colour covered with a bloomy wax.
Hungarian hybrid cultivar. Registered by: Fertőd Research Station. Certified in the Hungarian National Catalogue of Varieties. Certified in: 2002.
Ripening time: late August. The shrubs have medium vigour, the twigs are leaning out. Grows a loose, columnar shrub. Abundant blossoms, the flowera are beige in colour. Ornamental plant: the canopy is beautiful, shiny green, wich turns yellow then red during autumn. The berry has a shiny black ground colour, with a bloomy wax. The pulp is slightly staining. Self-compatible. The average weight of a berry is 1.18 g, the number of berry per cluster is 17-21.
Grows well on slighty acidic soils. It has a good productivity: in an experiment that was carried out in parcels for 5 years, the yield was 6.3-8.9 kg/shrub.
The fresh berry tastes tart, pleasant when processed. Can be used in making jams, syrups and as a dye in diary products.

Early ripening, self-compatible cultivar. The shrubs have a slightly stronger vigour, than ‘Rubina’ has. The height of the shrub can reach az 1.5-2 meters. The central leaders are thin, bending down under the weight of the fruits. The canopy turns into red in autumn, often planted as an ornamental plant. The berry is medium-large in size (6-9 mm), with a bloomy wax, a midnight blue colour and tart flavour. Has a regular, high yield.
