Fruit characteristics

The pulp is yellow in colour. The fruits are large-very large (200 grams) with a regular round shape. The skin is thin – medium thick, not resilient, but susceptible to russeting. On the bright yellow ground colour, there is a shiny medium-red overcolour, around 50-80% of the surface. The pulp is yellow, medium solid. Around the stone, there is a strong anthocyanic colour. The tissue of the fruit is not fibery, slightly sweet, more acidic, gently spicy, aromatic, succulent and not bitter. Good nutrient content and storability.

Tree characteristics The trees have semi-large, though not very vital.

 

Caldesi 2000

Flowering, pollination Mid-early blooming, bell-shaped flowers.
Productivity High productivity.
Ripening period Ripens 8 days before Redhaven.
Fruit characteristics

The pulp is white in colour. Fruits are medium-large, elongated and asymmetric. The ground colour of the surface is greenish white, on which there is a shiny red overcolor, around 90 % of the surface. The pulp is firm, succulent and white in colour, but a reddish colour change is not infrequent. It tastes good. The stone is semi-attached. Tolerates the processing for the fresh market well.

Tree characteristics The trees have a firmly upright growth habit.

 

Fantasia

Flowering, pollination Early blooming rose-shaped flowers.
Productivity Good productivity, suspectible to winter colds.
Ripening period Ripens 25 days after Redhaven.
Fruit characteristics

The pulp is yellow in colour. Fruits are in average 130 grams in weigh, round, sometimes slightly elongated. The skin is yellow that is blushed or marbled with a bright red overcolour, around 80% of the surface. The pulp is orange in colour, with red veins around the stone. It has a solid texture, an excellent taste and is unattached. Tolerates the processing for the fresh market and the transportation well. The stone is large, elongated.

Tree characteristics The trees have a fast growth rate.

 

Flavortop

Flowering, pollination Flowers are rose-shaped, early blooming.
Productivity High productivity, superior market value; however its cultivation in Hungary is restricted by its susceptibility to winter injuries.
Ripening period Ripens  16 days after 'Redhaven' .
Fruit characteristics

The pulp is yellow in colour. The fruits weigh in average 140 grams, they have a round shape, with a flattened tip. On the yellow ground colour, there is a shiny carmine red overcolour, around 80-90% of the surface. The pulp is yellow, slightly red around the stone, which is unattached, firm and very flavoursome. Tolerates the processing for the fresh market and the transportation well. The stone is medium or large, round in shape.

Tree characteristics The trees have a medium growth rate. Low requirement for cold temperature.

 

Harko

Flowering, pollination Flowers are rose-shaped.
Productivity High productivity, relatively strong cold toleration and superior consumption-quality makes its cultivation advisable.
Ripening period Ripens 1-2 days after 'Redhaven'.
Fruit characteristics

The pulp is yellow in colour. Fruits are medium-large, weigh 110 grams in average, with a regular round shape or one which is slightly flattened from the sides. On the yellow ground colour, around 60-80% of the surface there is a bright red blush or marble is appearing early. The pulp is yellow, medium solid, unattached, when fully ripened. It has a pleasant, harmonic taste. The stone is medium-small.

Snow Queen

Ripening period Ripens 10 days before Redhaven.
Fruit characteristics

The pulp is white in colour. The large and very tasty fruits have a high market value. Tolerates the processing for the fresh market and the transportation moderately. Due to its early ripening and relatively large fruits, it is used in the creation of novel cultivars.

Venus

Flowering, pollination Flowers are rose-shaped, large, pink and early blooming.
Productivity High. Buds are cold-sensitive.
Ripening period Late August late - early September, ripens one week after Fantasia; Studies suggest however, that these differences in ripening period do not persist in every year.
Fruit characteristics

The pulp is yellow in colour. The fruits are large (160 grams), elongated, asymmetric. The skin has a yellow ground colour that is blushed or marbled with a shiny red overcolour around 60-80% of the surface. The yellow the pulp is succulent, and has an excellent, harmonic taste. The stone unattached. In the pulp, around the large stone, an intensive red colouring appears.
